**Summary**

The Manager of Occupational Safety, Health, and Quality will manage and be part of the University-wide Occupational Safety and Health programs: Biosafety, Animal Safety, Ambulatory Clinic Operations Committee, Graduate Medical Education Committee, and Respiratory Protection Program. This position is responsible for the overall management and day to day operations of safety throughout our medical clinics and university promoting a safe and healthy workplace for the public and Midwestern University employees and students. This position will report to the Medical Director, Multispecialty Clinic.

**Essential Responsibilities**
- Serve as the Program Administrator for the Respiratory Protection Program, coordinating and conducting fit testing, and maintaining inventory of masks and fit testing supplies.
- Review OSHA-mandated medical questionnaires for employees requiring a fit test.
- Complete a Medical Opinion Form for employees who have undergone fit testing, per OSHA requirements.
- Review Animal Contact Risk Assessment forms for employees working with animals.
- Monitor employee preventative health for vaccinations, including ordering vaccines for new employees in AZ, and administer vaccines.
- Monitor and review vaccination dashboards, handle immunization declination requests, and upload documentation for on-campus flu shot clinics.
- Schedule OSH appointments and perform physical exams on new employees when indicate.
- Submit invoices for payment for the Sonora Quest OSH account.
- Order labs for the source person in the event of an exposure that occurs in a Glendale clinic.
- Evaluate exposed persons and order appropriate testing, counseling on post-exposure prophylaxis.
- Perform medical screenings for any faculty/staff with formaldehyde exposure.
- Collaborate with the risk management department to assess workplace hazards, including laser and x-ray/radiation safety, by monitoring and evaluating recognized risks and determining mechanisms to implement preventative and control measures.
- Maintain logs and documentation as required by OSHA.
- Develop education and in-service instructional programs for Midwestern University faculty and staff as needed.
- Participate in the development, review, recommendation, and implementation processes of university policies and procedures.
- Participate in research lab inspections (as part of the Biosafety committee).

Perform the following duties related to Quality:

- Cross-map value-based care measures (e.g., HEDIS, MIPS) within various Medicare or insurance contract provisions to integrate clinic workflow efficiencies, provider/staff training, and reporting compliance.
- Manage MIPS annual processes by determining clinician eligibility, selecting appropriate measures, monitoring, training, and making decisions for successful reporting.
- Coordinate or designate areas of improvement within clinical workflows to achieve benchmarks for reporting goals.
- Determine reporting periods for designated programs and select appropriate quality measures for each specialty.
- Provide training and education on updated rules and regulations for reporting programs.
- Review prior year performance and generate feedback reports in collaboration with the Epic analyst team.
- Configure and maintain required regulatory dashboards in collaboration with the Epic analyst team.
- Monitor and provide monthly summary reports to clinicians to identify gaps and areas of concern.

**Education and/or Experience**

A minimum of a Master’s degree in a health science field is required. Active licensure as a healthcare provider Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) is also required. Must have 3-5 years of experience in industrial hygiene, patient quality and safety, environmental management, resource management, public health, or related fields. At least 5 years of professional occupational safety and health experience is desired.

Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively handle difficult personnel issues. The ability to collaborate with a diverse group of academic, professional, and administrative staff in the performance of their duties is essential. Effective communication skills in various forums, including meetings, presentations, and written expression, are required. Proficiency in utilizing the latest computer technology is needed. The knowledge to recognize and effectively address health and safety issues that may generate adverse media coverage for the University is crucial. Demonstrated
