**Summary**:
The Guild School Teacher Manager will lead a team of teachers in developing their instructional capacities, curriculum (to include IEP related tasks), classroom management and teaching assistant supervision. In addition to providing high-quality instruction in their own classrooms, the Teacher Manager’s role is to build the capacity of teachers to deliver high-quality, effective instruction as well as supervise their teaching assistants. The Teacher Manager provides support to their team of teachers by providing 1-on-1 observation and coaching, as well as in-vivo modeling. In addition, the Teacher Manager will collaborate with the associate directors to develop and implement the teacher mentor framework for new and waivered teachers. Teacher managers may also be expected to take on school-wide education projects like student council or other initiatives.

**Primary Job Responsibilities**:

- Mentor and coach teachers in assigned teams through in vivo modeling, observation, and regular supervision.
- Support teachers in the development of student goals and associated IEP paperwork based on data and in line with the Guild’s Collaborative IEP / Treatment Plan practices.
- Integrates aspects of the teacher evaluation rubric and The Guild’s Integrated Framework into practice for assigned team.
- Provides the first line of support to teachers who are new to their profession or teachers who may need mentorship.
- Supports and monitors assigned teacher team in the implementation of priority practices.
- Facilitate classroom consult meetings and/or participate in meetings as required for support of assigned teachers.
- Work with TA reps (lead TAs) to develop a parallel process for TAs in the school.
- Support education leadership in larger school wide initiatives by providing leadership and ownership over their implementation.
- As needed facilitates team meetings for students in their caseloads.

**Essential Job Functions**:

- Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job including weekends, holidays, and inclement weather situations.
- Demonstrated evidence of mature judgment, good interpersonal skills, a desire to enrich individuals' lives and a willingness to learn from skilled professionals.
- Physical and mental capacity to work in stressful situations and de-escalate individuals who have limited cognition and complex needs.
- Must be able to organize, plan, and prioritize activities with specific attention to higher level strategies while ensuring that details are also effectively addressed.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is an essential function of the job.
- The ability to implement crisis intervention techniques as necessary, including Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (via certification through CPI).
- The ability to assist individuals in evacuation from the school.
- Must possess sufficient use of the senses of vision, hearing, and touch to observe effectively in the classroom, clinical, and community settings.

**Qualifications**:

- Qualifying teaching license as indicated by Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Professional license or ability to obtain preferred.
- 3-5 years training or experience teaching skills to students who have mental health diagnoses and/or developmental disabilities.
- Ability to demonstrate supervisory and administrative skills.
- A valid driver's license.
- Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check requirements.
