Reports to: Program Supervisor or Above

Through the State of California Youth Community Access Grant, the Youth Engagement Coordinator (YEC) will coordinate and oversee, in collaboration with the City of Huntington Beach**, **an educational program that connects underserved youth within the Oak View community with opportunities to access cultural and environmental resources that the region has to offer. The Oak View Youth Community Access program will serve up to 600 youth over an 18-month period with twelve (12) total experiences with natural resources, including three (3) recurring separate day trips to Bolsa Chica Wetlands, Huntington City Beach, and Laguna Coast Wilderness Park; and one (1) recurring overnight trip to Huntington Central Park. In addition to the outdoor programming facilitated by the city's Community & Library Services Department, the YEC will oversee the programming facilitated through Oak View Family Resource Center (OVFRC), where youth will participate in relevant workshops including healthy lifestyles, substance use prevention, early intervention, mental health awareness, environmental science internships, and more.

The Youth Engagement Coordinator (YEC) will develop and support the Oak View Youth Community Access program by planning, scheduling, and overseeing the implementation of program workshops and internships in collaboration with subcontracting and partner agencies. The YEC will also recruit youth participants and volunteers, assess community needs, facilitate meetings, and maintain meeting minutes and attendance rosters. The YEC is responsible for facilitating select workshops and engaging and supervising youth participants, volunteers, and interns who will participate in the Oak View Youth Community Access program.

**Responsibilities**:

- Recruit, screen, and orient youth participants, volunteers, and interns to OVFRC and Oak View Youth Community Access program.
- Promote the Oak View Youth Community Access program with local community and faith-based organizations and Title One schools.
- Enroll participants and administer evaluation tools as required by the agency and the funder.
- Responsible for all contractually required program documentation and data entry.
- Maintains files, logs, and program records in audit condition as required by the agency or funder.
- Coordinate service delivery with other service providers.
- Attends community meetings and/or agency/collaboration meetings/trainings as assigned.
- Coordinates and maintains communication with key stakeholders, including the funder.
