Study Hotels is expanding to new markets and is currently seeking a motivated **Security** **Supervisor **to join our team at our new hotel in Chicago, **The Study at University of Chicago**.

**Responsibilities**
- Interviews, hires, and trains security staff.
- Oversees the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of security staff including security guards and desk clerks.
- Prepares and conducts training for new hires and current staff including training on workplace searches, drug and alcohol procedures, and related safety and security topics.
- Provides and/or implements security and security protocols for premises.
- Takes proactive steps to provide a safe and secure working environment to staff and visitors.
- Carry out inspections on the premises to ensure everything is in order.
- Check-in vendors and deliveries. Ensure vendors have the appropriate escort throughout the back areas of the hotel.
- Responsible for monitoring the CCTVs. Work with the Director of Engineering to identify vulnerable spots of the CCTV.
- Investigate accidents, thefts, and other safety concerns pertaining to guests and coordinate with Human Resources for team members.
- Maintain and monitor lost and found processes and procedures.
- Responsible for key maintenance, conduct departmental key control audits, and maintain key control records.
- Maintain emergency safety procedures.
- Prepare reports on all activity that takes place in the hotel.
- Responsible for reporting incidents to the appropriate channels.
**Fundamentals**
- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Experience: 5+ years in a similar role.
- Flexibility to work any shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by business needs.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Extensive knowledge of security protocol and procedures.
- Excellent management and supervisory skills.
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in English required; a second language is desirable.
- Strong organizational skills, including follow-up, time management, ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to positively communicate and interact with all hotel departments, external vendors, and guests.
- Ability to grasp, lift and or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Study Hotels is a drug free workplace. Pre-employment drug test and background check required.
