**About the Organization**

Museums In the Park (MIP) is a coalition of Chicago museums located on Chicago Park District property. MIP works with the Chicago Park District, Chicago Public Schools, the City of Chicago, the State of Illinois and other entities to build awareness of the value of museums. MIP is a 501(c)6, not-for-profit organization. As an extension of our educational system, museums offer children and adults opportunities to discover new worlds - in settings as inspiring as the learning itself. Through collaboration, MIP provides greater access to museum content and programs for children and families throughout the diverse neighborhoods of Chicago.

**About the Role**

The Program Liaison is one of two staff members of the Museums In the Park consortium and is responsible for planning, communicating, coordinating, and evaluating the programmatic connections between the eleven member museums and the Chicago Park District. The Liaison works closely with the museum education leadership to implement programs that meet the collective goals of these institutions, fit within the priorities of the Chicago Park District, and meet the needs of the intended audience.

A primary responsibility of this role is coordinating the Park Voyagers program, a strategic effort that connects museums to children and families in parks throughout Chicago. Programmatic elements of Park Voyagers include:

- A multi-week after school program that takes place at park sites across the City. The participating museums are split between fall and spring, requiring communication and coordination between museums and parks throughout the year.
- Professional development for park staff to support their ability to understand and make the most of museum-based resources and learning opportunities
- Unique programmatic experiences developed by museums for parks, for which Park Voyagers becomes the means of connection
