We have an opening for a motivated Case Assistant in the Real Estate department of our Washington, DC office.

The Case Assistant supports the management of cases and/or projects, and coordinates the related workflow.

In this capacity, the Case Assistant will:

- Perform work in an efficient and cost-effective manner so as to permit the Firm to reasonably collect fees for such work; Meet expectations of billable hours (if any);
- Assist with legal business transactions, and the preparation, production and organization of legal documents and binders;
- Organize, maintain and update logs and files, both manually and electronically;
- Perform manual and electronic searches using external systems and internal databases;
- Coordinate with internal resources and outside vendor services;
- Work overtime as required; Travel as required; and
- Handle additional related projects as assigned.

Proficiencies:

- Fundamental proficiency in online research and internet resources (Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw and equivalents);
- Fundamental knowledge of legal terminology;
- Fundamental knowledge of Firm and Real Estate practice-area-specific procedures and terminology (preferred);
- Fundamental knowledge of relevant jurisdictional/court/agency processes and procedures (preferred);
- Fundamental knowledge of legal billing processes (preferred).

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree (preferred); and
- At least 1 year of relevant Real Estate experience (preferred).
