**JOB TITLE**:ASSOCIATE CHEMIST**

**REPORTS TO**:R&D Lab Manager**

**JOB SUMMARY**:As our hybrid Associate Chemist at Gold Eagle, you will earn $60,000-67,000 annually, and will support research and development, consumer support, and quality control activities. You will assist with experiments, analyze chemical samples, and maintain lab equipment. Under the guidance of the R&D Lab Manager, you will document test findings, prepare reports, and ensure safety protocols are followed.

**JOB DUTIES**:

- Analyze organic and inorganic compounds to determine their chemical or physical properties, composition, structure, relationships, or reactions using analytical and spectrophotometry techniques.
- Support product development by improving formulas, maintaining equipment, and documenting processes.
- Maintain laboratory instruments to ensure proper working order and troubleshoot malfunctions when needed.
- Prepare chemical compounds or reagents for testing.
- Analyze the effects of processing or packaging on formulated products (i.e., package/formulation stability and compatibility).
- Collaborate with the R&D Lab Manager and the Vice President of Product Engineering on new product development.
- Facilitate collaboration between R&D, Quality, and Compounding to meet customer and consumer expectations for quality.
- Assist the Sales and Marketing teams with technical product issues and opportunities, sales presentations, trade shows, customer portals (WERCS), etc.
- Conduct and document the results of product engineering benchmarking analysis for competitive products.
- Assist in coordinating Marketing team activities related to new product development, existing product improvements, and cost reductions where appropriate.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
- 1-3 years of experience in the design and development of engine and/or petroleum-based performance and maintenance chemical products.
- 1-3 years of experience in the design and development of water-based appearance and maintenance chemical products.
- 1-3 years of experience with wet chemistry.
- 1-3 years of experience with Good Laboratory Practices.
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment working with Quality Control, Compounding, and Filling practices and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent writing, speaking, time management, and project management skills.
- Strong technical analytical abilities.
