**Position Summary**: The University Advancement Coordinator is a highly visible position at Benedictine University and will be an integral member of the team. The position works closely with Donors and alumni, assisting with oversight, vision, and direction for Alumni Relations with the goals of forging and maintaining relationships with alumni, communications with alumni, cultivating volunteers and creating opportunities for alumni to connect with one another. The University Advancement Coordinator cultivates interest in and conveys the priorities of the University, matches prospects interest to institutional needs, directly solicits individuals, and provides stewardship after gifts are made. This position conveys a passion for the mission of the university in all they say and do.

**Essential Job Responsibilities**:
**1. Strategic partnerships**:
Build & maintain a portfolio of 50-75 corporations, community partners, foundations and other philanthropic entities. Develop and implement a community and corporate engagement program.

**2. Development**:
Participates in prospect management and prospect strategy meetings within the Advancement office. Participates in active stewardship and ensures that required reporting on funded projects is completed in a timely manner. Drafts high quality and timely proposals, grant requests, correspondence, impact/stewardship reports, and other documents to support funding support for the University and key, strategic initiatives.

Complete 16 face-to-face donor and prospect visits each month. Make effective use of the University’s prospect management database and other institutional coordination with university objectives. Conduct research to identify prospects, with an emphasis on major gifts while creating strategies to match prospects’ interests to the priorities of the Development Team and the university. Leverage data and analytics to identify leadership giving prospects. Have the ability to move donors through the pipeline.

Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with development colleagues, volunteers, and other college representatives to maximize the departments total gift revenue. Researches, writes, edits, and/or oversees the preparation of persuasive, accurate, and grammatically and syntactically correct solicitations, proposals, case statement, reports, correspondence, and other development-related communication materials in support of the departments fund-raising activities. Works with the Development Team to deliver a personalized multi-channel donor experience including postcards, social media, phone calls and direct mail.

Meet or exceed $135,000 in grant/gift commitments and/or new enrollment streams in year one, increasing to $200,000 in year two, and $300,000 annually thereafter while in position.

**3. Alumni Relations**:
Create engagement and retention initiatives for alumni including developing new and consistent ways to keep alumni engaged as active participants in the University community. Partner with each of the colleges and other areas on campus to focus on making alumni engagement more collaborative. Craft strategy that encourages this collaboration and fosters an increased level of engagement.

**4. Career & Personal Development**:
Create the structure, content, and programming necessary to launch and grow the Benedictine University student personal development program. Develop and implement; budget, surveys, advisory council, etc. in order to create quality content necessary to sustain an impactful program. Engage with Alumni and students to assist in retention and satisfaction. Work with Benedictine University leadership, colleges, development, and career development to understand goals, opportunities, and processes to support the personal development program as well as those in our business community. Design an outreach plan to promote Career and Personal Development and engage with business and corporate partners within the community. Design, compile, and analyze data for impactful effectiveness and continued improvement of both the program and outreach. Create opportunities to recruit volunteers/mentors for Career and Personal Development as well as opportunities to bring the business community to campus.
