Kitchen Assistant

Kitchen Assistant will help the Kitchen Manager in food preparation, lunch service, and clean up of the kitchen. Must be comfortable following a recipe for baking and cooking from scratch. Hours each week may fluctuate based on need for regular service. Regular hours can go from as early as 8am to as late as 3pm. Total hours may be between 10-20 hours per week. There may be options for additional hours for special events. At least 6 months of commercial kitchen experience is preferred.

**Kitchen Assistant Cook Job Requirements**

Refer to daily prep check list at the start of each shift for the list of assigned duties

Ensure the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic

Follow recipes for making of food items. Includes cutting, chopping, and mixing for soups, sauces, spreads, and breads.

Sorting, storing, and distributing ingredients

Plating food per guests orders

Washing of pots, pans, dishes, glassware, etc., as needed.

Disposing of rubbish

Cleaning the food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen tools and dishes.

Closing the kitchen properly following the closing checklist
