**Job Title: Assistant Controller**

**Job Summary**:
The Assistant Controller plays a vital role in supporting the Controller in various financial activities, particularly during a period of ERP implementation and managing team absences due to FMLA. This position requires strong expertise in journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and close activities. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies and procedures. Proficiency in Excel, especially in handling large spreadsheets, utilizing vlookups, and creating pivot tables is essential. Additionally, the Assistant Controller will collaborate with external firms and maintain a hybrid work schedule, spending three days onsite.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Journal Entries (JE's)**: Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- **Accruals**: Manage accruals process to ensure expenses are recognized in the appropriate accounting periods, facilitating accurate financial reporting.
- **Account Reconciliations**: Perform monthly reconciliations for various accounts, including bank accounts, receivables, payables, and others to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- **Close Activities**: Assist in month-end and year-end close activities, including preparing financial statements, variance analysis, and supporting schedules.
- **Excel Expertise**: Utilize advanced Excel functions to manipulate and analyze large datasets, including vlookups, pivot tables, and other formulas as necessary for financial reporting and analysis.
- **Collaboration with External Firms**: Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers as needed to support audit and tax compliance activities.
- **Hybrid Work Environment**: Maintain a hybrid work schedule, spending three days onsite and collaborating effectively with team members both in-person and virtually.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or relevant certification preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including vlookups, pivot tables, and complex formulae.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably during implementation phases.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
