**Description**
As a Laboratory Technician 2 at the BURL Outreach Clinical Laboratory in Calabasas, you will play a vital role in supporting laboratory operations and providing high-quality phlebotomy services. Your duties will include: - Perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages. - Prepare specimens for analysis. - Assist in coordination of couriers and routes, including follow-ups on service delays. - Triage all lab samples and requests after verification of appropriate information. - Enter and verify patient and test info into computer. - Generate computer labels for specimens and deliver to appropriate areas. - Prepare samples for transport to referral labs or storage. - Document draws, added tests, and cancelled/rejected specimens. - Provide coverage as necessary to other draw stations. Salary Range: $32.77 - $43.22/hour
**Qualifications**:
- A current, California Certified Phlebotomy Technician certification. - High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED or HiSET). - Minimum of 2 years of recent experience performing phlebotomy in a high-volume testing laboratory (post receiving CPT certificate). - Ability to work at other draw stations as needed (e.g. Panorama City, Torrance, Burbank, Encino, Calabasas, Westlake Village, Woodland Hills, Porter Ranch, Thousand Oaks, and Century City). - Availability to work weekends, holidays and other shifts as needed. - Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite. - Skill in performing related computer procedures (LIS, HIS). - Knowledgeable in quality assurance practices, preferred.
