**Overview**

To oversee the operation, maintenance, repair and installation of all mechanical systems for assigned Navy Federal location.

**Responsibilities**
- Plans, organizes and directs the activities of the Mechanical Services
- Performs supervisory administrative duties. Selects employees, prepares and conducts performance appraisals, counsels employees and oversees employee training including the external trade apprenticeship program
- Schedules work shifts and sets workload priorities to ensure tasks are completed with mínimal inconvenience or disruption to Navy Federal Credit Union operations
- Participates in the design process, works with staff and contractors and oversees the installation, operations, upkeep, maintenance and repair of the heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems, control systems, environmental equipment, kitchen, mechanical and refrigeration equipment, plumbing and installed sprinkler systems, Halon and other systems within Navy Federal Credit Union facilities
- Maintain knowledge of the industry, regulatory building codes, equipment, and EPA and OSHA laws and regulations
- Acts as project manager for in-house and contracted projects. Assists in the development of contract specifications. Reviews contract documentation and blueprints provided by outside engineers for contract installations
- Inspects work completed by contractors to ensure specifications and quality requirements have been met
- Identifies errors or problems and offers solutions and suggestions
- Establishes and executes equipment and systems preventive maintenance program
- Recommends and participates in the procurement of equipment
- Maintains stock of spare parts and equipment
- Observes and enforces safe working conditions through continual training of the staff and by bringing unsafe situations to the attention of employees whenever encountered
- Performs other duties as assigned or appropriate

**Qualifications**
- Thorough knowledge in the installation, maintenance, operation, and repair of plumbing system, refrigeration equipment, centrifugal chillers, computer room environmental equipment, air handler system and pneumatic contract systems
- Thorough knowledge of state and local mechanical codes
- Experience in operations and maintenance of large buildings
- Ability to meet deadlines, exercise initiative, good judgment and make sounds decisions

- Demonstrated or potential ability to supervise
- Master Mechanical License
- Effective planning and organizational skills

**Desired Qualifications**
- High school, trade school diploma or equivalent

**Hours**: Monday - Friday, 6:00AM - 2:30PM *100% on campus
