**Duties**:

- Complete screening of patients for Privilege Provider to include recording chief complaint, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, height, and weight.
- Assist patients in walking, moving, and changing positions.
- Obtain urine samples, performs urine dipsticks and finger sticks for blood glucose, inputs lab requests.
- Receive telephone calls, patients, and visitors to the medical facility to determine the nature of the call or visit
- Arrange each health care provider schedules with preference indicated for specific activities and blocks off times of non-availability.

**Conditions of Employment**:

- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 1 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- A Childcare Background Check (CNACI) is required. This position has a specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require contact with children.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

- **Specialized Experience**:One year of specialized experience which includes performing non-professional nursing/medical assistance work assisting Health Care Providers with medical exams; administering immunizations and medications ordered by the health care providers; and obtaining specimens (blood, mucus, urine, etc.) for laboratory testing. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

**Combination of Education and Experience**: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
