Summary:

To be eligible for this role, your resume should highlight sufficient experience and/or education to carry out the specific duties of the position you are interested in.

Experience includes both paid and unpaid roles, such as volunteer work done through programs like Peace Corps or AmeriCorps and other organizations.

You will be recognized for all qualifying experience, whether volunteer-based or part-time.
Individual Occupational Requirements:

These criteria outline the minimum qualification requirements (e.g., educational, medical, age, experience) for the Health Aid and Technician Series.

Specialized Experience (for GS-4 and above): Positions in this series cover a wide range of tasks, including supporting medical personnel like audiologists, speech pathologists, medical officers, and optometrists.

Technician experience involves applying the knowledge and techniques required for the specific position.


or Education and Training:

For GS-4: Completion of 2 years of study with at least 12 semester hours relevant to the position.

For GS-5: Completion of a full 4-year course leading to a bachelor's degree with significant study in subjects directly related to the position.

Examples Include:

Experience in healthcare roles answering medical office calls, recording patient information, using electronic health records, performing basic medical procedures, and ensuring cleanliness of examination rooms.

Another qualification pathway is having completed 2 years of post-high school education focusing on relevant subjects.

Alternatively, a combination of education and experience that meets the minimum qualifications for the position can also suffice.
