**Position Title: Elementary Classroom Teacher (Mathematics/Science-STEM)**

**Summary**:Under the general supervision of the School Director, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.

**Compensation**:Base Salary-Certified-$71,500, $2,000 Testing Grade, (Adv. Degrees $3,000 for masters, $5,000 for doctorate). $200/ year for applicable experience.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. (Masters preferred)
- Valid New York Instructional Certificate and Subject Area Endorsement or eligibility.
- Motor Vehicle Operator’s License or ability to provide own transportation.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of the use of various technological software and equipment for tasks such as, but not limited to, word processing, data management, information retrieval, visual presentations, and telecommunications.
- Understand the requirement to maintain confidentiality concerning charter school-related matters.
- Knowledge of child growth and development, individual differences in ability, personality and interests and learning/motivational techniques.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
- Knowledge of Smartboard functions and tools.
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work; parents, students and faculty etc.
- Prior to employment, the following must be addressed:

The Elementary Classroom Teacher for Mathematics/Science-STEM will:

- Develops and administers school elementary mathematics and science/STEM curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs.
- Maintains anecdotal notes for students and collaborates with administration regarding issues & concerns.
- Maintains familiarity with district and New Jersey State standardized tests for the purpose of adapting curriculum to maximize student achievement on such tests.
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
- Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and
