**Department Overview**

The mission of East Village Access (EVA) is to provide empowering opportunities for people experiencing behavioral health challenges to realize their goals, build relationships and work towards self-sufficiency. In recognition that each program participant is the expert in their own life, EVA supports participants’ recognition of their own potential, development of their specific talents, skills and abilities. All program services are intended to assist participants embracing broader opportunities in the greater community. The purpose of the program is to assist individuals recovering from the disabling effects of mental illness through the coordination of rehabilitation, treatment and support services that are participant focused and goal oriented.

**Wage**: $26.87

**Position Overview**

**The Recovery Specialist** role at EVA provides daily services to program participants embedded in a Psychiatric Rehabilitation philosophy, utilizing milieu, group and one on one modalities. **Recovery Specialist** committed to the service provision philosophy based on mental health recovery, self-determination and harm reduction principles. The **Recovery Specialist** has the opportunity to enhance their clinical skills in milieu, one on one, and group modalities. Clinical supervision for professional development as well as for Clinical licensure is provided. Some of the essential job functions include developing individual recovery plans with participants that reflect person-centered planning principles; developing, modifying and delivering group curriculums to sufficiently meet individual and programmatic objectives, and assisting with the development of a respectful and collaborative community.

**Qualifications**
- Understanding, appreciation, and commitment to the philosophy and mission of Community Access.
- Master’s Degree in social work, Mental Health Counseling or Psychology or related.
- Open to learn and facilitate groups and workshop
- Must be fingerprinted and cleared by the Office of Mental Health (OMH).
- Commitment to recovery-oriented practice.
- Skilled in conflict mediation/negotiation and have an assertive approach to problem solving.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to utilize various computer programs, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Electronic Health Records, or similar electronic client database system.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Available to work on holidays, as needed.
