**Position Summary**

The Executive Vice President, Strategy & Industry Alignment (EVP) is primarily responsible for enhancing NCPDP’s engagement and relationships among CMS, HL7 and ONC to advance pharmacy initiatives that support NCPDP’s vision and purpose. Through this engagement” the EVP will provide NCPDP and its members with industry intelligence needed to ensure NCPDP remains relevant and fosters standards and services that promote the common good.

With direction from the CEO and COO, the EVP will work closely with the Executive Vice President, Public Policy & Professional/Industry Relations and EVP, Innovation & Standards Development in representing NCPDP at HL7 and ONC and venues not specifically dedicated to standards development alone. The EVP will increase industry awareness of NCPDP through execution of activities that complement NCPDP’s Strategic Plan and support NCPDP’s goals and objectives. The EVP will work closely with NCPDP senior management to achieve the goals of NCPDP.

A major emphasis is placed on knowledge of HL7 Accelerators and HITAC Pharmacy Recommendation and how NCPDP can support the industry and strategically position NCPDP with these efforts.

**Major Responsibilities**
- Collaborate with COO and provides leadership to Sales & Marketing, Meeting Planning, Office Management & HR.
- In conjunction with marketing communications, oversees the execution of NCPDP Strategic activities requiring executive level meetings, speaking engagements, press releases, etc. that drive broad industry awareness and demand for NCPDP standards, products and services.
- In alignment with COO review and approve personal policies and procedures prior to final submission to COO and CEO.
- Supports compliance with applicable federal, state, and local law regulations.
- Participate in executive staff strategic planning meetings and decision making as deemed necessary.
- Serve as primary contact for HL7 and ONC and for issues related to clinical services.
- Proven ability to serve on boards, task forces, working groups, or advisory panels of relevant external organizations as a means of widening NCPDP’s footprint, maintaining meaningful engagement and identifying marketplace trends.

***Other Responsibilities**
- Provides leadership direction as aligned with COO and CEO for Strategic Plan and other relevant NCPDP committees as appropriate.
- In collaboration with executive and senior management, develop relationships with key associations and develop strategic alliances as appropriate.
- Provide consultation to the NCPDP Foundation upon request and in alignment with relevant areas of expertise.

**Organizational Responsibilities**

The President & CEO of NCPDP may be required, during peak periods or when staff resources are insufficient, to redirect staff to share duties and responsibilities of others.

**NCPDP Experience**
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of NCPDP and its importance for a minimum of three (3) years. Five (5) years as an NCPDP member, three (3) of which have been in a leadership role in one or more of the following capacities (Strategic Planning Committee, Board of Trustees, WG/Standardization Co-chair) are a plus.
- Broad experience in more than one NCPDP color category group is a plus.
- Requires on-going interface with staff and members.
- Exhibits a pro-NCPDP attitude/demeanor.
- Creates an open environment where others feel free to share their point of view.
- Follows through on commitments.
- Possesses enthusiasm for the goals of the organization/inspires the same in others.
- Demonstrates NCPDP communication content development skills.
- Demonstrate ability to lead and gain consensus amongst all NCPDP communication groups (member services/communications, general internal communications, and marketing communications) due to NCPDP knowledge.

**Pharmacy and Healthcare Industry Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree (e.g., MA, MS, MPH, MBA, or PharmD) is preferred.
- 5+ years of pharmacy and healthcare industry experience at the senior executive level. Comfortable speaking with senior executive level people in organizations.
- Thorough understanding of current industry issues.
- Familiarity with business and technical healthcare issues and trends.

**Functional Area Experience**
- Experience in translating complex analytical concepts or information for an uninformed audience and presenting results at executive levels.
- Experience serving on a Board of Directors.
- Experience serving on a Foundation.
- Experience serving as a member of a Professional Pharmacy Association.
- Experience in strategic planning outside NCPDP is a plus.
- Demonstrated poise and polish that creates a sense of credibility in a
