The Payroll Specialist manages the day-to-day payroll function for two separate payroll cycles, administers company benefit programs, facilitates recruitment of new employees and serves as the main point of contact for employee questions or concerns regarding company policies.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls timely and accurately
- Maintain, analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts related to benefits and payroll
- Maintain HRIS, payroll system and timekeeping system
- Perform monthly PTO audits and accruals
- Administer and have comprehensive understanding of all benefit programs
- Process 401k and HSA contributions
- Post job openings and coordinate with hiring managers to facilitate interview process
- Manage onboarding of new employees and offboarding of departing employees
- Suggest new procedures and recommend improvements of existing processes
- Assists with external audits and annual budget process

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business or related field from a four-year college or university.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll experience.
- Extensive knowledge of state and federal tax laws pertaining to payroll and benefits
- High level of organization (multi-tasking) and communication (verbal and written) skills required
- Recognition of and respect for the confidential nature of the work
