**JJUNIOR DESIGNER**

Shannon Scott Design is an ethical and sustainably focused interior design and interior architecture studio based in Santa Barbara, California. We are seeking a highly creative and motivated Junior Design, with at least 3 years of professional experience working in luxury residential and hospitality design.

The Junior Designer works directly with the Principal, in collaboration with the other team members, and will be responsible for supporting the design and selection process for our projects. A successful Junior Designer at SSD requires mínimal supervision and demonstrates strong skills in all phases of design: assisting in the development of design concepts and presentations, space planning, construction and furniture selections and specifications, and installation of projects.

Due to the nature of this fast-paced industry, our team members must be adept at adjusting priorities to meet project and business needs. Highly organized with very strong attention to detail and accuracy is a must. Most work is performed in our studio, and the Santa Barbara County region, however, out of area travel may be required from time to time.

**ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Support Principal with the conceptual, design, and selection process based on client + studio vision.
- Construction materials, fixtures, and finishes sourcing and selection.
- High-end fabric, furniture, and decorative fixtures sourcing and selection.
- Create stylized mood and presentation boards.
- Attend meetings, site visits, and shopping trips with Principal, taking meeting minutes and notes.
- Research and source new suppliers for sustainable design materials and products.
- Prepare and update documents during schematic design and the design development phases.
- Correct CAD drawing redlines and minor drawing updates.
- Provide verification of site details to support design.
- Assist with Finish and Material Schedules and specifications.
- Assist with FF&E quoting, investments, proposals, specifications, and purchase orders.
- Collaborate with the design team on installations and photo shoots.
- Project administration and coordination.
- Business and project errands for Principal.
- File and library maintenance.

**QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS**
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience working in luxury residential and hospitality design.
- Professional Degree in Interior Design and/or Interior Architecture preferred.
- Technical skills in AutoCAD and hand drawing (2 year minimum).
- Adobe Creative Suite and 3D rendering experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of Studio Designer a plus.
- Sharp eye for design, materials, and spatial awareness.
- Detailed knowledge of finishes, materials, standard specifications, applicable building, fire, and safety codes, ADA compliance, design and detailing standards, and construction techniques.
- Knowledge of a variety of design styles and vendors, including furniture, fabric, lighting, tile/plumbing, etc.
- Experience with high-end furniture selections and procurement.
- Highly organized and able to work on multiple projects at various stages of development at the same time.
- Desire to source new products and develop innovative design solutions.
- Working knowledge of construction drawings, interior architectural detailing, and custom cabinetry and millwork design.
- Collaborative, self-motivated, positive, and flexible, with outstanding written and verbal communication and listening skills.
- Excellent client service skills and well versed in interfacing with clients, consultants, and vendors.
- Extremely professional, reliable, and committed to a strong work ethic.
- Must live in Santa Barbara or Ventura Counties; position will be working full-time in the studio.
- US citizen, valid Driver’s License, insurance, and reliable vehicle.

**SALARY & BENEFITS**
