The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for handling payroll for over 200 janitors, management and supervisors assigned to our school district contract. This role is dedicated exclusively to this contract and requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy. The Payroll Specialist will work closely with the corporate team to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Payroll Processing**:

- Accurately process payroll for 200+ janitors on a bi-weekly basis.
- Ensure all payroll transactions are processed efficiently and accurately.
- Verify timesheets, attendance records, and other relevant documents.
- Calculate wages, deductions, bonuses, and overtime payments.
- Address and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
- **Compliance and Reporting**:

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports to the corporate payroll manager.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure confidentiality.
- **Coordination and Communication**:

- Act as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees and the corporate team.
- Communicate with the human resources department to ensure employee data is up-to-date and accurate.
- Coordinate with the corporate payroll manager to address any payroll-related issues.
- **System Management**:

- Utilize payroll software and systems to process payroll and maintain records.
- Update and maintain payroll systems with current employee information and payroll data.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any system-related issues in collaboration with IT support.
- **Continuous Improvement**:

- Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solutions.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in payroll management.
- Participate in payroll training sessions and professional development opportunities.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar payroll processing role.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.

**Physical Demands**:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

**Position/Expected Work Hours**:
This is an exempt full-time position; days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, time to be determined. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Pay: $65,000.00 per year
