**Director of Structural Engineering**

We are growing and looking to bring onboard motivated individuals for our next steps forward.

We are looking for a Director of Structural Engineering to oversee our team as they lead the firm’s new designs, evaluations, investigations, and repairs for existing buildings. Considerable professional experience, PE licensure, professional demeanor, and desire to learn (and re-learn) are essential to success in this position. The key individual will work closely with the company’s founder to deliver a high quality of service to both our clients and with our own team.

**Essential duties include**:

- Coordinate with the engineers leading each project to ensure efficient, effective and coordinated advancement of company commitments
- Communicate and coordinate with architects, contractors, owners, and other stakeholders
- Manage—with internal project teams—the clarity and understanding of project scope as well as matters of added services, scope creep, and similar
- Participate in the preparation of specifications, modeling, and drawings—primarily through internal review but also actively when necessary
- Conduct on-site investigations, document existing conditions, and determine causation
- Willingness to contribute to business development as needed
- Contribute to team recruitment and hiring processes as necessary
- Manage and mentor junior engineers actively and by example
- Facilitate in maintaining team proficiency with various technical tools
- Oversee teams engaged with construction administration services to ensure project needs are served within the framework of design
- Contribute to our collaborative and value-driven culture with new ideas and solutions

**Required Qualifications**:
**Ability -**
- Skills - Working knowledge of and familiarity with various computer analysis and production software used in the industry
- Problem-solving - Capacity to solve minor to complex problems using data, logic, judgement and problem-solving tools
- Teachable - Passionate with a willingness for continued learning/sharing of new ideas and concepts

- Creative - Application of engineering principles to provide creative solutions
- Communication - Convey information to internal and external stakeholders clearly with excellent writing or oral skills
- Minimum of ten years professional experience in applied engineering environments after PE licensure is a benchmark

**Other -**
- Physical capacity to remain effective at a computer workstation for prolonged periods
- Capacity to perform inspections and site visits that may demand low-level physical activity (bending, crawling, climbing stairs or ladders, etc.), situational awareness through aural and visual means, and comfort with moderate heights
- Ability to work in the United States
- Driver’s license

**Additional Valued Qualifications**:

- Graduate level degree in Civil - Structural Engineering

**Salary**:Contingent on experience

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
