Holmberg Orchards is a multigenerational family farm in Gales Ferry, CT. We are seeking an individual to join our team as a part-time Farm Market Clerk. As a Farm Market Clerk, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth operations at our farm market. You will be responsible, energetic, enthusiastic, enjoy working with a team, have an attention to detail, be able to work independently, and possess a desire to build relationships with our amazing community of customers. THIS IS A YEAR ROUND POSITION.

**Responsibilities**:

- Customer Service: Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing product information, answering inquiries, and offering recommendations as needed.
- Cash Handling: Operate the cash register accurately and efficiently, process transactions, handle cash, and provide appropriate change to customers.
- Product Display: Arrange and maintain attractive displays of farm produce, fruits, vegetables, flowers, and other market items, ensuring their freshness and visual appeal.
- Stocking and Inventory Management: Receive, unpack, and organize deliveries of farm products, ensuring proper storage and rotation of stock. Monitor inventory levels and promptly restock shelves to meet customer demands.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Keep the farm market area clean, tidy, and organized at all times, including workstations, shelves, and display areas. Dispose of waste appropriately.
- Product Knowledge: Continuously develop knowledge about farm products, including their varieties, seasonality, storage requirements, and preparation methods to provide accurate information to customers.
- Adhere to Regulations: Follow health and safety regulations, including proper handling of produce, maintaining cleanliness standards, and complying with food safety guidelines.

**Requirements**:

- Availability: Able to work on weekends and commit to the seasonal nature of the job.
- Customer Service Skills: Friendly, approachable, and patient demeanor with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately handle cash transactions, label products correctly, and maintain organized displays.
- Physical Stamina: Capable of standing for extended periods, lifting and carrying moderate loads, and working in various weather conditions.
- Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and assist in other areas of the farm market operations when needed.
- Interest in Agriculture: Passion for farm-fresh produce and a willingness to learn about different crops and products.
- Prior experience in a customer service or retail environment is desirable.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 30 per week
