SHIPPING/RECEIVING LEAD

A small eastside business is seeking a full-time Shipping/Receiving person who has a high attention to detail.

Responsibilities will include:

- General knowledge of warehouse/stockroom procedures.
- Reads and understands handling specifications, government, and commercial packing instructions.
- Reads and understands packing, marking, and shipping instructions, assists in preparing bills of lading and other required forms.
- Provides a high level of customer service.
- Must be detail-oriented with good mathematical abilities.
- Computer experience needed.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Compares identifying information and quantities on the order items for verification and indicates any discrepancies.
- Determines methods of storage and item location, considering height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities and required space.
- Pulls items from inventory shelves to fill orders, carefully verifying identifying information and quantities.
- Enter other incoming shipments in the computer after physical counts have been verified.
- Validates packing slips and shipment paperwork for accuracy.
- Requires good communication, dependability, initiative, good productivity level, job knowledge, high-quality work, problem-solving skills, organization skills, a team worker and some leadership ability.
- Orders and stocks adequate supplies to avoid shortages.

Physical Requirements - must be able to safely lift 50 pounds on occasion; prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.

KNOWLEDGE OF DOD/DLA PACKAGING REQUIREMENTS, SPIs & FAR CLAUSES PREFERRED

Perform other related duties as assigned.
