We are a non-profit organization specializing in our services for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- **We are currently seeking Instructional Aides for our Adult Day Program for participants ages 18-30 years old with various disabilities. Mychal’s Learning Place provides life skills training, social skills training, and employment opportunities.**_

- **Responsibilities**_
- Ensure the safety of participants while onsite and out in the community
- Travel off-site to local businesses to perform job training and support to participants
- Provide transportation via company vehicles to participants in job training and community events
- Provide support with training participants at our social enterprises
- Assist as needed with behavior control, prompting, and positive reinforcement
- Assist in setting appropriate long and short-term goals for participants based on assessment findings
- Provide emotional regulation support to participants
- Maintain emotional control under difficult situations
- Learn and adapt to new procedures and conditions, and be flexible and adjust to program needs and changes
- Conduct travel training via public transportation
- Record and submit documentation regarding participants’ progress in daily living skills and job training
- Assist in designing individual activity plans to allow accomplishment of goals, modified as needed
- Assist in implementation of special events
- Attend all in-services and required staff meetings
- Assist with all aspects of instruction
- Develop and instruct daily/weekly lessons on various daily living and vocational skills including but not limited to meal planning, cooking, grocery shopping, exercise/movement, housekeeping, first-aid use, community safety, money management, emotional regulation, communication, personal hygiene, job etiquette, and job-specific skills
- Responsible for ensuring good standards of hygiene, regularly checking and ensuring equipment is safe, preparing designated areas, and clean-up after each session in compliance with health and safety legislation
- Present and maintain a professional image while in the community and with parents
- Assist with additional duties as needed
- **Qualifications**_
- **Must be at least 18 years old**_**(required)**_
- Ideal for those pursuing a field in special education, psychology, teaching, or human services
- Experience with developmental and intellectual disabilities preferred
- **Minimum of High School Diploma or beginning GED courses **_**(required)**_
- **Available Monday through Friday, 8:30AM - 2:00 PM for program hours, plus additional hours for lesson prep and staff meetings (maximum 2 hours per week) and optional additional hours for social enterprise support**:

- **Must demonstrate excellent communication and writing skills **_**(required)**_
- **Clearance from Department of Justice via Live Scan Fingerprinting **_**(required)**_
- **Clearance via Health Screening Report and Tuberculosis (TB) test **_**(required)**_
- **Maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications within last 12 months **_**(required)**_
- Looking for a minimum of a 1-year commitment

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $17.25 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 27 - 39 per week
