**The Role**

This position is for an E03 Submarine Waterfront Engineering USS COLUMBUS Team Supervisor. This is a Submarine Fleet Support Engineering position with considerable hands on production involvement, the incumbent has a potential to work overtime on a variety of schedules to support the EOH.

On a daily basis this role will leverage or execute:

- Knowledge of submarine systems and extensive experience/understanding of SUBSAFE/REC requirements.
- Leading and direct the work of others and be an excellent motivator and mentor
- Working closely with customers (SUPSHIP, NNS Trades, and NNS Project and Management personnel) to ensure technical requirements, schedule and budgets are met
- Managing company financial control systems with an understanding of cost performance, manning resource plans, and overhead
- Establish engineering priorities and make technically correct decisions that best support ship schedules and specifications

**Must Have**
- Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design or Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience.
- Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
