Management Support program at the Department of Veterans Affairs. This remote position is
designed for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic
government setting, particularly within Veterans Affairs. Serving as a crucial intermediary
between the project manager and the project team, the Program Management Analyst focuses on
operational activities, supporting both project and product management tasks. The role demands
exceptional planning and organizational skills, an ability to adapt to shifting priorities, and a
keen eye for detail, ensuring effective management and integration of complex IT service
delivery processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in overseeing and coordinating the delivery of IT services across various product
lines, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and compliance with VA standards.
- Support the development and maintenance of comprehensive project management plans,
detailing project scope, resources, timelines, and milestones.
- Contribute actively to product lifecycle management, including product planning,
execution, and analysis, to ensure products meet user needs and strategic objectives.
- Monitor and report on project schedules, work plans, risks, budgets, and deliverables,
ensuring projects and product initiatives meet targeted goals and timelines.
- Contribute to technical management support across projects, focusing on achieving highquality IT service delivery.
- Facilitate effective communication across multiple teams and stakeholders, ensuring
clarity and alignment on project and product objectives and status.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts by identifying process enhancements and
implementing advanced technology solutions to optimize operational workflows and
product performance.
- Assist in managing risk by identifying potential issues, assessing their impact, and
supporting the implementation of appropriate mitigation strategies for both projects and
products.
- Ensure all project and product documentation maintains high standards of governance
and control and adheres to VA guidelines and process requirements.
- Create and maintain the essential project and product management documents, including
project plans, schedules, reports, risk registers, and action item trackers using tools like
Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Facilitate meetings across project stakeholders, maintaining the quality of all project and
product documents/data to ensure the integrity of the project and product deliverables.
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business Administration, or
a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in program and product management within the
government contracting sector, focusing on IT projects.
- Demonstrated ability to support the management of multiple IT product lines, ensuring
strategic alignment and operational efficiency.
- Proficiency in project and product management tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel,
PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent planning, and organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively under
pressure and adapting to shifting priorities.
