Private Learning Center locates in Queens is currently looking for Elementary school, Middle School and SHSAT, SAT level Instructors.

English & Math Instructors
Summer Program: 7/01/24 - 8/16/2024

English Instructors (Grade 1 -- Grade 7)
Math Instructors (Grade 1 -- Grade 7)

**Time**: Monday -- Friday // 9am -- 12pm or 1:00-4:00pm or 9am to 4pm

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- To plan and deliver lessons that are appropriate to a summer school environment
- To ensure and maintain proper levels of student discipline, welfare and safety of all students during the program
- To ensure that all teaching sessions are adequately prepared for
- To complete course reports for all students
- To prepare weekly examinations and course reports are submitted in a timely manner

**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**
Great classroom management skills and positive energy
Strength in reading/writing/reading comprehension; Math strategies
Professional/responsible and enjoy working with children
Demonstrates diplomacy, patience, and flexibility which are essential when working with young children
Ability to work with a positive attitude and effectively as part of a dynamic team
Proven organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to change

SHSAT or SAT Instructors

**Time**:Monday -- Friday from 9am -- 12pm or 1:00-4:00pm or 9am to 4pm

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Responsible for teaching of 15-20 students in a class.
- Students are grouped in a class according to ability. SHSAT Class will be comprised of current 7th, 8th and 9th graders and SAT is for 9th to 12th graders.
- Responsible for teaching the Verbal or Math curriculum of SHSAT/SAT to students.

**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**
*Must have a minimum of a BA or a BS. Bachelor degrees in Education, English, Math Journalism, Philosophy, Psychology, Fine Arts or Liberal Arts a plus.
- Prior teaching experience in the NYC SHSAT and SAT is preferred.
*Strong scores (90% rank or higher) on standardized exams such as the GRE, SAT, or LSAT preferred.
*Good classroom management skills, presentation, professionalism, and enthusiasm are required.
*Able to communicate effectively and break down difficult concepts for students.
*Ability to utilize and employ various modes of teaching/instruction.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $21.88 - $24.17 per hour
