Field Leader- Indiana Dunes Young Adult Crew

**Position Summary**
The Student Conservation Association team (SCA) will provide services at three locations within Indiana Dunes National Park: West Beach, Portage Lakefront, and Great Marsh. These areas have been identified in the Parks Resource Stewardship Strategy as priority resource areas for conservation and restoration work. Invasive species control has been identified as a critical management action. Approximately 30 gross acres of invasive plants would be treated within the units. Eradication of invasive species will have a direct positive impact on multiple rare habitats such as Cottonwood Dune Open Woodlands, Pannes, and Great Marsh as well as dozens of rare plant species and the parks only Federally Threaten plant species (Cirsium pitcheri).

August 5, 2024 - December 20, 2024
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
Manage and Support SCA Crew Members, Complete Weekly Administrative Duties, Interact with Agency Partners, Implement SCA Policies & Procedures, Work Alongside Crew, Cultivate Positive Member Experience, Work with Program Staff, Maintain Crew Vehicle, Track Program Budget and Plan Environmental Education Day(s) for Crew Members.
**Marginal Duties**
Work with Program Assistant to Facilitate a "Join the Crew - Joint Workday" Event, Assist the NPS Staff with other field related task,
**Required Qualifications**
Experience Leading Young Adults, Experience Working in Outdoor Settings, Excellent Communication and Organizational Skills, Basic Understanding of NW Indiana History and Ecosystems, Passion for Building the Next Generation of Conservation Leaders, WFR certification or ability to obtain one. MUST BE 21 years of age or OLDER by Start Date.
