**Position Description**
TITLE: Lead Financial Aid Counselor FLSA Status: Exempt DEPARTMENT: Administration

**Primary Objective**:This position is responsible for providing information, guidance, support and expertise related to Student Financial Aid. Works closely with Admissions to assist Future Students in completing financial plan, within established deadlines. The Lead Financial Aid
Counselor will follow financial aid program integrity and stay in compliance with State,
Federal, and accreditation regulations.

- Cultivate an environment where employees respect and adhere to company core values of quality, integrity, and ownership thinking by integrating these values into all programs and practices, developing consequences for violations or non-compliance, and supporting an Open Door Policy
- Track benchmarks daily, weekly, monthly quarterly and yearly
- Recap and analyze business with Financial Aid Team Lead weekly
- Provide on-going recognition, support, and inspiration for students
- Work closely with Admissions to support in achieving enrollment goals
- Review financial aid results with students and provide solutions for remaining balances
- Follow up with prospective students who have toured and track where they are in the enrollment process
- Perform diligent follow-up on FA file completion and complete files within established guidelines
- Support enrollment goals by providing FA packaging o Verification support with FA servicer o Present packaging options to prospective student
- Accurately note all activities within company database
- Accurately and efficiently answer student questions regarding financial aid and/or remaining balances o Discover needs; find solutions
- Maintain and regularly audit student financial aid files
- Handle all inquiries with courtesy and professionalism
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent organization, time management and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Proficient with computers and Student Tracking systems
- All compliance standards are achieved and reporting is complete on time
- Significant internal and external Guest interaction including students, team, student’s family members, guests and salon network
- Coach, process and track LOAs and Drops
- FA audit and NACCAS/VA Audit support
- Travels domestically regularly requiring an overnight stay or consecutive overnight stays
- Must not currently be in default on a federal student loan or owe a federal grant overpayment
- Provide on site leadership and coordinate communication for Financial Aid Team Lead
- May perform other tasks as required or assigned

**Minimum Requirements**
- 2+ years of experience in a financial setting
- Proven track record in managing confidential information
- Solution oriented
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Committed to providing outstanding customer service
