**The Chaplain’s Role**:
As a chaplain, you will support our patients both spiritually and emotionally. Hospice patients find themselves near the end of life. As a result, many patients rely heavily on spiritual support as a coping strategy. The chaplain needs to be an expert active listener, provide comfort, compassion, and grief counseling for our patients. When needed, the chaplain conducts memorial services or funerals. Most importantly, the chaplain offers and provides prayer services throughout the hospice experience.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with the Medical Director (physician).
- Conduct spiritual assessments.
- Educate and perform religious rituals according to your scope of practice.
- Complete the mandated documentation.
- Promote spiritual management.
- Notify the Director of Patient Services (DPCS) when there is a change in spiritual condition (COC).
- Maintain patient privacy in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Shepherd and counsel, the patient and/or caregiver(s) when needed.

**Chaplain Qualifications**:

- 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Have an MSW Degree from a school of social work accredited by Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
- Bachelor of Divinity or a Master of Divinity.
- Certification as a Board Certified Chaplain.
- Certification as an Advanced Practice Board-Certified Chaplain.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 40 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekends as needed
