Overview

The Maintenance / Houseman at The Setting Inn Napa Valley is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the maintenance department at the property. The Maintenance / Houseman is responsible to assist the housekeeping team to ensure that all areas of the hotel, interior and immediately exterior, are properly maintained and guestrooms are maintained to the level that is expected at the property. The hotel team prides themselves in upholding a high standard of professionalism and service that the guests have come to enjoy, and will look to the maintenance staff to help meet guest expectations.

Manager

This position reports directly to the General Manager.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

**Responsibilities**:
The essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:

- Supervise the interior and exterior maintenance needs of the entire property.
- Corrective, preventative and emergency maintenance to maintain property in safe and attractive condition.
- Complete repairs to existing equipment and amenities at the property including painting, patching, etc.
- Assure maintenance of tools and equipment in safe working condition.
- Maintain records of types and frequency of maintenance.
- Make approved purchases of supplies, equipment and services.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of the property.
- Thorough knowledge of power, water, and gas turnoffs, plumbing cleanouts, fire extinguishers.
- Assure maintenance of exterior lighting, gutter cleaning, walkways, parking areas, trash enclosures, pool/spa, and common area facilities.
- Maintain a clean Driving License.

Other duties from time to time as assigned by immediate supervisor. Hotel management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time.

Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of two years hotel experience as a maintenance worker or progressive maintenance responsibility. Proper tool and chemical use.

Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements
- Working knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, landscaping care. English speaking. Valid driver’s license. Good driving record. Bondable.

Physical Requirements
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, squatting, crawling climbing. Lifting/maneuvering/carrying heavy items up to 50 lbs. unassisted or with use of dolly.

Other duties from time to time as assigned by immediate manager. Hotel management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Education**:

- High school or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Property maintenance: 1 year (required)

Ability to Relocate:

- Napa, CA 94558: Relocate before starting work (required)
