**JOB DESCRITION**: Drug and Alcohol Counselor (intake specialist and group counseling)

Summary:
GPASS-SAFE is a treatment program providing outpatient services for people with Substance Related Disorder(s) under Greater Philadelphia Asian Social Service Center (GPASS). The SAFE program provides both individual and group counseling for individuals who are overcoming their barriers in life. GPASS-SAFE is seeking an experienced Counselor/Intake Specialist to become part of our community. The primary task of this role will be **client intake** and **group counseling** for SAFE Dept clients. This role will not have a case load. The counselor/intake specialist will follow DBHIDS Practice Guidelines and recovery best practices to provide behavioral health services to the individual enrolled in GPASS-SAFE program.

The Counselor/Intake Specialist will demonstrate a personal belief in helping others and the welfare of individuals seeking recovery at GPASS-SAFE. The Counselor/Intake Specialist will promote and contribute to the development of a culture of recovery, empowerment and will uphold the integrity of GPASS-SAFE program goals.

**Responsibilities/Duties**:
Group Counseling

Complete all client intakes for GPASS-SAFE Program

Work with individuals seeking services one-on-one to complete documentation and intake requirements

Enter demographic information in OPUS. Open electronic chart with proper episodes

Complete necessary consents for PO/Courts/Family

Work in conjunction with all staff and outside referrals

Communicates with referral sources in a timely manner, to obtain necessary information and documents

Engage with individuals in services

Strong verbal and written communication

Detail-oriented and interpersonal and organizational skills

Able to Multi task

**Additional**:
Assisting in scheduling of new Intakes

Working collaboratively with Administrative Assistant to disseminate client information where applicable

Submit weekly attendance sheet

Attend bi-weekly supervision with Director and other clinical team members

And any other duties delegated by managerial staff

**Qualifications**:

- Preferred Associates / Bachelor degree in Human Services
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
- Ability to express complexinformation in a clear and concise format.
- Ability to present information to various levels of understanding.
- Intake/Admissions experience preferred.
- Strong critical thinking,analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Must be very organized.

Must have the ability to work independently as well as work effectively with affiliated teammates.

**Job Type**: Fee For Service

**Experience**:

- Intake: 1 year (preferred)
- Degree: BA or Masters Degree

**- ASAM Training (mandatory)**

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour

Healthcare setting:

- Telehealth

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
