Cultural Resources Project Manager

We assist public-agency clients with natural resource management, infrastructure development and regulatory compliance. Founded in 1994, we have more than 52 professional, technical and support staff serving clients throughout California. Currently, we are seeking the right person to fill the role of **Cultural Resource Project Manager** to support our Cultural Resources Group in Irvine, CA office.

Projects involve prehistoric and historical archaeology, architectural history, paleontology and ethnology. Experience with federal and State regulatory agencies, and experience in regulatory consultation in support of public and private clients is required.

The available position is for a mid
- Manage projects and milestones within schedule and budget expectations
- Author and review stand-alone cultural resource reports, assessments, and cultural resource portions of documents as related to Federal and State Agencies
- Manage the financial performance of individual projects and effectively coordinate with clients and regulatory agencies
- Manage client relationships and conduct business development with new and existing clients
- Collaborate with clients, UltraSystems staff members, and resource and regulatory agencies to obtain permits and clearances for project completion
- Supervise, mentor and instruct subcontractors, technical staff and field personnel
- Peer review cultural resource reports from other consultants
- Prepare reports related to Section 106, National Environmental Policy Act technical documents, proposals, white papers and other written deliverables and responses related to various permitting/planning, compliance projects and regulations as required
- Develop recommendations for mitigation measures, monitoring, and permitting specific to cultural resource management
- Maintain a collaborative work environment and positive morale among staff, subcontractors, and clients
- Take initiative, resolve problems, and create improved procedures to assure tasks are completed in the most effective manner
- Perform fieldwork (survey, testing, archaeological monitoring, and data recovery) and/or supervising field crews
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively across multiple disciplines
- Provide data QA/QC, organization, and tracking of field data, and collecting GPS data using Trimble units
- Foster friendly, positive, productive, and scholarly working relationship with team members while promoting a culture of teamwork, engagement, quality service, and customer satisfaction

**Education/Experience**: M.A. or B.A. degree in archaeology, or closely related discipline required. Other requirements:

- Five (5) years of experience in project management related to environmental consulting services
- Working knowledge of federal and state laws and regulatory agencies governing cultural resource management (i.e., SHPO, NAVFAC, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience in increasing levels of responsibility, including supervising, providing leadership, and mentoring for other professionals
- Proven business development success and consulting acumen, including established credibility with Federal and State reviewing agencies and clients
- Prior advanced experience with proposal writing
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal and technical writing

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
