**SUMMARY**
The **Assistant Food & Beverage Manager ("Gerente Asistente de Alimentos y Bebidas")** supports the Outlet Manager in managing and supervising The Grill & Bar, Judson’s Pool Bar, Room Service, Halfway House, and Cart operations while leading, training and directing its personnel. Contributes to the mission of providing quality service to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**:
- Supports the Outlet Manager in coordinating all administrative activities of the department, including schedules, performance evaluations, recruiting, record keeping, orientation, supervision, staffing and attending meetings.
- Conveys a favorable image of the organization by projecting a positive, professional appearance, and demeanor to our guests and associates alike.
- Provides input for menu development, design, and implementation.
- Participates in the preparation of operating and capital budgets and forecasts, offering complete support to ensure their adherence.
- Assists in recruiting and hiring positive individuals with pleasant can-do attitudes in keeping with our hotel culture.
- Participates in establishing training programs to ensure consistent high-quality service.
- Ensures that the cleanliness of restaurant, bar, and cart operation facilities and equipment meets the highest standards set by both the Health Department and the hotel.
- Conducts safety and emergency procedure training for departmental staff.
- Actively engages with staff, hotel guests, and golf clientele to ensure quality service is provided.
- Assists in overseeing operations of the Cart department, Pool Bar, Grill, Room Service, Bar and Restaurant operations.
- Collaborates with other departments to guarantee quality of services rendered.
- Manages a house bank and adheres to established cash-handling procedures.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Two-year associates degree, trade school degree, professional certification or any equivalent.
- At least 2-4 years of relevant experience and/or training.
- A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement.
- Experience running a shift, scheduling, performance management, problem-solving, running day-to-day operations, hospitality & customer service skills.
- Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
- Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire. Evans Hotels will provide this training and is to be completed at the company’s expense.
- RBS certification required.
- Previous similar position in top-quality restaurant or hotel is preferred.
- Ability to exemplify and always lead with a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
- Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
- The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.
