Job description: Associate Director of Behavioral Health (ADBH)

The ADBH will follow the best practices of the profession including all ethical requirements. This person will adhere to Alliance Care 360's policies and procedures about clients' rights and confidentiality, including all HIPAA High-tech Act protections. They will work collaboratively with other Public Health and Substance Misuse Programs in the development and implementation of programs that reflect the mission and statement of Alliance Care 360. ADBH will also provide mental health assessments, short-term and some long-term substance abuse, and mental health counseling services to young and older adults with mental health challenges. This includes but is not limited to, the assessment of needs, barriers to mental health services, case management, treatment planning, individual, and group therapy, crisis management, and referral to internal and external resources. The ADBH will be responsible for providing specialized health literacy, addressing mental health disparities and inequities, and regarding access to mental health and journey to potential sustained recovery services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Coordinates clinical services with staff, community partners, agency initiatives, and referrals to agency psychiatrist.
- Applies policies and procedures in accordance with compliance measures following regulations and licensing requirements.
- Develop, analyzes, and interpret required reports to measure program performance and compliance.
- Monitor client records, behavior, progress, and treatment plans in relationship with treatment services.
- Ensures and provides for effective care planning and case management development and implementation including specialized behavioral intervention plans, progress and update reports, and treatment team meetings.
- Conducts client file reviews in a timely manner to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Provide monthly reports of activities to the PI
- Maintain professional status.
- Develop strategic growth initiatives, generate project reports, and outcome documents, consistently reporting data to the grant PI and leadership teams as appropriate.
- Collaborates with the PI and Finance team to oversee the programming budget, providing regular spending and status updates to grant project officers.
- Maximizes grant utilization by maintaining an active knowledge of grant requirements, as well as county, state, and federal regulatory standards of care.
- Serve as primary contact for and maintain regular communication with Grant Project Officer and Grant Management Specialist to support grant-funded programming and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
- Assists as needed in the implementation of grant programming, providing direct services in both group and individual therapy settings.
- The incumbent supervises and coordinates the staff in their duties and assists the PI/PD in developing and maintaining service integration with available resources.
- Maintain a high level of ethical conduct regarding confidentiality, dual-relationships, and professional stature.
- Work collaboratively with various departments within Alliance Care 360, applicable outside agencies, Alliance Care 360 clinic staff, and Alliance Care 360 administrative personnel via team meetings, one-on-one consultations, and staff meetings.
- Ability to maintain competent use of electronic health records, currently eCW/CureMD.
- Maintain program standards of care set forth by the IDHS SUPRA and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMHSA) federal agency.
- Participate in continuing education requirements (Minimum of 40 CEs per year), continue to enhance, and develop knowledge in area(s) of expertise and/or interest, as well as build on use of modalities to meet various needs of clients. Attend ongoing professional staff development programs, workshops, and presentations.
- Attend and participate in all required meetings, including department and program meetings, agency committee meetings, agency all-staff meetings, training, and group consultation.

**Education and/or Experience**
- Master’s degree in human services, psychology, public health, and social work field required.
- Advanced knowledge and skills in community-based mental health and substance use treatment required.
- Three years of experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders required.
- Experience in a supervisory role preferred.
- Knowledge of Aging and Young Adult GBTQ+ culture and societal/family challenges is required.
- Work or lived experience may substitute for education requirements on a case-by-case basis.
- Working Knowledge of HIV, Hepatitis C, STI, Mpox, and PrEP disease management services preferred.

**Supervisory Relationships**

This position will report directly to the PI and to the Executive Director.
