The Production, General Manager (GM) ensures the production groups, welding and stamping are all working together to meet customer demands of a Tier 1 automotive parts manufacturer.
- Oversee both the welding and stamping groups for both buildings, in a just-in-time environment
- Oversee four manager direct reports between two buildings, indirect 400+
- Develop long-term goals and strategies to meet business objectives for Hoshin
- Knowledge of time needed to produce each part
- Oversee activities of production, supervision, and activities of employees
- Establish plans and targets for Parts Per Hour (PPH)
- Ability to understand each of his/her managers needs
- Develop a rapport with hiring managers and work as a team
- Gather and analyze information from work sites to identify root causes in resolving business issues
- Employ 8-Step Problem Solving to resolve problems for continual improvement
- Direct and assign work schedules, assignments, tasks, and duties
- Train and develop employees to perform job duties according to company procedures and policies for safety and accuracy
- Monitor results and processes to proactively maximize production and eliminate waste
- Prepare departmental reports and present them to executive management
- Complete necessary documentation, such as status changes, time-off requests, and performance evaluations
- Work with Human Resources Manager to identify and interview potential employees for job positions
- Collaborate with other Managers, Supervisors, Team Leaders, and team members in sharing information to address business needs
- Develop and implement standard work instructions
- Create forecast for labor and cost
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Proven track record in consistently meeting or exceeding KPI’s in a GM position
- Strong operational experience, with the ability to establish and measure KPI’s
- 5+ years of progressive management experience in a manufacturing environment, with 2+ years being in a GM role
- Experience overseeing a large production environment of 400+ is desired
- Automotive experience preferred
- Tier 1 or Tier 2 experience preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
