We are a leading plastic surgery and dermatology practice, offering a wide range of surgical and non-surgical procedures to enhance the appearance and health of our patients. We are looking for a medical assistant who can perform both front office and back office duties, and provide exceptional customer service and clinical support.

As a medical assistant, you will be responsible for:

- **Greeting and checking in patients** with a friendly and professional attitude
- **Interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information** in patient charts using an iPad
- **Preparing and sterilizing exam rooms and instruments** and ensuring compliance with infection control standards
- **Assisting the physician with procedures** such as suture removal, specimen collection, wound care, injections, etc.
- **Photographing patients** before and after treatments using standardized protocols
- **Managing patient flow** and ensuring timely and efficient service
- **Ordering and reminding patients of prescriptions** and refills as needed
- **Keeping track of and entering the results of imaging studies, lab tests, and pathology reports** in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- **Working with insurance companies and coding specialists** to verify coverage, obtain authorizations, and process claims

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- **Previous experience as a medical assistant or in a similar role**, preferably in a plastic surgery or dermatology setting
- **Knowledge of plastic surgery and dermatology medical terminology, procedures, and diagnosis**:

- **Proficiency in EMR systems**, preferably Modernizing Medicine
- **Excellent oral and written communication skills** and attention to detail
- **Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure** in a fast-paced environment
- **A high school diploma or equivalent**. A certification or degree in medical assisting is preferred
