A Fiscal Accounts Technician II is the full performance level of work reconciling agency accounting systems to fiscal control systems or developing automated spreadsheets, ledgers and reports or identifying budget trends and recommending budget realignments. Employees in this classification do not supervise. The Fiscal Accounts Technician II performs the full range of duties under general supervision.
**Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following**:
- Performing an analysis of the accuracy of the amount billed using service contracts, maintenance contracts, and construction contracts invoices in MAA's Financial Management Information System (FMIS).
- Reviewing and verifying source documents such as bills, receipts transmitted sheet, invoice, purchase orders, and requisitions.
- Reviewing current billings against historical billings to identify any large variances.
- Reviewing, evaluating, and interpreting complex terms of all services and maintenance contracts for approvals and budgetary information.
- Ensuring each invoice is recorded to assure appropriation is adequate before payment.
- Distributing invoices to various departments to be signed for approval of satisfactory work, goods or services received, and to ensure payments are in accordance with the contract terms; and
- Monitoring the status of invoices to identify early in the process invoices that may become designated as “late” invoices.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
**Experience**:One year of experience reconciling agency accounting systems to fiscal control systems or developing automated spreadsheets, ledgers and reports using accounting software packages or identifying budget trends and recommending budget realignments.
**Notes**:
1. Experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
