As a Maintenance Technician at Maplebrook Farm Cheese Company, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities. With a strong focus on Human Machine Interface (HMI), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), and other areas of technical expertise, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our equipment to uphold the highest standards of production efficiency and product quality.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production equipment, including but not limited to HMI systems, PLCs, conveyors, packaging machinery, and refrigeration systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and prolong the lifespan of machinery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement innovative solutions.
- Utilize strong inventory management skills to ensure adequate stock of spare parts and consumables, maintaining optimal levels to support uninterrupted production.
- Document maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory usage for accurate record-keeping and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Provide training and support to production personnel on equipment operation, maintenance best practices, and safety procedures.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies, implementing effective solutions to minimize production disruptions.
**Requirements**:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant vocational training preferred.
- Proven experience in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, with a focus on HMI, PLC, and automation systems.
- Strong proficiency in inventory management and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and manage spare parts inventory effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision, as well as collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to on-call duties as needed to support production operations.
- Familiarity with food manufacturing processes and regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, USDA) is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
