Accounting Representative

Summary/Objective:
An Accounting Representative is responsible for handling accounts payable and receivable. This
includes managing carrier invoices and customer billing while maintaining accurate aging reports.
Additionally, monitor and analyze trends while working directly with customers to resolve any billing
and invoicing discrepancies.

**Responsibilities**:

- Organize and coordinate all outstanding payables and receivables
- Receive and input payable invoices
- Create and send receivable invoices
- Provide and analyze weekly aging reports, including outstanding receivables on significantly
past-due accounts
- Identify trends and assist with reducing AR aging and optimize collections
- Manage first level escalations by responding to customers on any collection related inquiries
- Develop strong relationships with customers and factoring companies to ensure all invoices are
paid according to terms
- Create and identify improvements to current processes to increase productivity and quality
- Investigate circumstances of non-payment, discuss, and resolve conflicts
- Monitor and manage workflow and daily targets to ensure team optimization
- Communicate with employees and vendors to resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional
manner
- Other duties as assigned

- Anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs to internal and external clients to meet or
exceed their expectations within the organizational parameters
- Report suspected fraud and abuse to Supervisor, or the HR department immediately
- Comply with federal and state laws as well as Company policy and procedures
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 1+ years’ experience in an Accounts Receivable role
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Suite, with an emphasis on Excel
- Self-driven with ability to work independently and as a team
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Extremely organized with excellent time management skills

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office
equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Work days consist of Monday through Friday of each week from 8am to 5pm
in our Muskegon office. Occasional after-hours and weekend work may occur.
