The Wachusett Regional School District Assistant Treasurers position is an on-call position which requires flexibility in terms of availability to meet the needs of the Comptrollers organization. It is expected that the Assistant Treasurer will act as a secondary signatory on the Districts bank accounts and be available to perform duties in the absence of the Treasurer when deemed necessary. Compensation will include an annual retainer fee of $1,000 and called-on services performed will be paid at $50 per hour.The services and responsibilities of the Assistant Treasurer when called on for the Wachusett Regional School District are: - Review and recommend approval of any warrants for the School Committee indicating that there is funding available to meet the cash requirements of the warrant
- Properly fund and make transfers for bi-weekly payroll and accounts payable warrants
- Prepare and make the weekly bank deposit
- Keep informed on banking practices, interest rates, and economic conditions
- Give bond for the performance of specified duties in such amount as prescribed by state law. The premium on such bond shall be paid by the District
- Foster a working relationship with the District Administration through timely responses to their requests while maintaining independence
