**FoodPrep Solutions**, has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Production based in Stamford, CT. FoodPrep Solutions (FPS) provides sharpening services, food equipment sales and service, and related merchandise to the foodservice industry. Our customers include many of the businesses where you dine and shop including restaurants, supermarkets, gourmet markets, and deli’s.

The Director of Production will be responsible for all aspects of warehouse operations, logístical planning, and ensures processes and procedures are followed to achieve maximum efficiency. The role will oversee a team of production specialists, supervisors, and warehouse associates, ensuring Company initiatives are enacted and maximized to achieve end goals. The GM will be a critical component of the Management team and work daily with senior Management to reach key KPIs and drive performance.

**Provide Oversight and Training to the entire Production Process**

**Processing Incoming Customer Boxes**
- Process requests from our Route Sales Representatives (RSR) to help satisfy our customers’ needs.
- Assist with filling orders for new incoming requests.

**Machinery Startup, Shutdown, Usage and Maintenance**
- Understand and follow the proper procedures in starting up machinery and preparing for use.
- Understand and follow the proper procedures in starting up machinery shut down, including lock out/tag out procedures.
- Maintain proper safety procedures throughout all operating lines.
- Understand how to properly use machinery to ensure a quality product for our customers.
- Clean machinery and ensure proper maintenance.

**Sharpening Knives, Cutting Supplies, and other Equipment**
- Establish proper training procedures and make sure the supervisors are implementing them appropriately.
- Ensure a detailed quality control process with supervisors and staff.
- Ensure sanitary products will be delivered to our customer.
- Operate and clean machinery in a safe manner.

**Production Facility Cleaning & Organizing**
- Maintain clean workspaces and overall production facility (for example, tables, shelves, and floors, and removing and disposing of waste and cleaning waste receptacles).

**Warehouse & Delivery**
- Maintain proper unloading and loading procedures for deliveries.
- Stock shelves safely and maintain ready to use inventory.
- Keep track of stock and inventory and know when to order supplies.
- Ensure all OSHA guidelines are followed.

**Employee Scheduling & Attendance According to Company Policy**
- Establish work schedules and assignments for staff.
- Monitor employee attendance, address issues of tardiness and excessive absence.
- Monitor employee overtime and alert Operations Team if significant overtime is needed based on upcoming production needs and/or employee schedules.
- Schedule and track employee paid time off, including vacations/sick days.
- Ensure adequate coverage when employees take unscheduled time off.

**Employee Management**
- Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of employees.
- Create training protocols for new and existing employees.
- Set performance expectations and discuss performance problems with employees to identify causes and issues and to work on resolving problems.
- Evaluate employees' job performance and conformance to regulations.
- Make recommendations to Operations Team concerning issues such as personnel actions, staffing decisions, and procedural changes.
- Document staff accomplishment as well as performance issues.
- Run regularly scheduled staff meetings to communicate messages from leadership, such as changes to policies and procedures.

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE**:

- Directly supervises employees’ day-to-day work, as well as schedules and provides performance feedback. Includes resolving personnel issues and making recommendations for personnel growth, duty or location changes, employee reprimands, and terminations.

**REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- **Preferred Experience**:

- 2-3 years of factory or shop experience using industrial tools and machinery; preference given to those with knife sharpening or knife handling experience.
- 1-2 years of experience supervising others
- **Preferred Skills**:

- Bilingual fluency is a plus (English and Spanish)
