Surgery Scheduler St. Mary's Location

**Surgery Scheduler Duties -**
- Books, coordinates and schedules patients’ surgical appointments
- Maintains and updates current information on physician’s surgery schedules
- Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages, and provides information to patients.
- Answers questions regarding patient surgical appointments and testing
- Obtains proper authorization for surgical procedures, which includes extensive knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding as needed
- Submits all hospital charges to the business office
- Establishes and inputs physician templates including regulating physician’s vacation times, and days off and communicating this information to the appointment schedulers and staff
- Accurately establishes and maintains physicians’ outside clinics and in-patients in all hospital facilities.
- Maintains all patient confidentiality and HIPAA rules and regulations
- Performs related work as required
- Presents good telephone skills
- Responds promptly to patient needs and co-worker requests
**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five years of work experience in a medical setting preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-9 and CPT coding
- Word processing and computer experience
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per year
