Job Summary:
The Director of Technology holds a pivotal role in the organization as an organized, self-motivated professional capable of managing multiple concurrent priorities, tasks, projects, and assignments. They are responsible for overseeing day-to-day technology operations and serve as a leader of the IT service desk and support team. The Director plays a crucial role in managing department projects and ensuring the successful execution of technology initiatives. They are also responsible for ensuring compliance with departmental and organizational standard operating procedures. Moreover, the Director of Technology serves as the executing arm of the strategic objectives set forth by the Chief Information Officer (CIO), which aligns technology initiatives with the overall business strategy.
Qualifications:
- **Security and Compliance.** A comprehensive understanding of security best practices and compliance standards are necessary for the Director of Technology to carry out the relevant objectives set forth in the organization’s information security program. Direct experience with the standards of HIPAA, JCAHO, and PCI DSS are preferred.
- **Technical Expertise.** The Director of Technology must possess a strong foundation of technical knowledge and expertise in all the core elements of an SMB technology environment. Experience managing Microsoft 365 cloud environments is required, while expertise specifically in Intune, Power Automate, and Power BI is preferred.
- **Management and Communication Skills.** Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial for effective collaboration and cooperation with technical and non-technical colleagues. Additionally, the Director of Technology must demonstrate solid people management skills to lead and motivate the IT team members.
- **Continuous Learning.** Given the rapidly evolving nature of technology, the Director of Technology must have a mindset of continuous learning. Staying updated with industry trends, acquiring new technical skills, and adapting to changing circumstances are important for the success of this role.
- **Change Management.** The Director of Technology must have an intimate understanding of effective and sustainable change management principles as they relate to technology and IT operations within the organization. They will be responsible for overseeing and guiding technology changes, ensuring smooth transitions and minimizing disruptions to the organization's IT infrastructure and systems.
- **Security and Compliance.** A comprehensive understanding of security best practices and compliance standards is necessary for the Director of Technology to carry out the relevant objectives set forth in the organization's information security program. Direct experience with the standards of HIPAA, JCAHO, and PCI DSS is preferred.

- **Effective Relationships -** Demonstrates skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with team members, joint setting of goals and objectives, data collection and analysis, evaluation.
- **Team Leadership - **Demonstrates the ability to participate in team meetings on a weekly basis, including completing project updates and disseminating pertinent information to team members, as well as relaying pertinent information. Assist with project management, development and design, continually striving for improvement.
- **Performance Evaluation - **Demonstrates the ability to assist team members in the evaluation of performance. Outlines expectations for team members and conveys the need for accountability for progress in planning, achieving goals and moving towards constant improvements in operations and corporate functions.
- **Research and Education - **Stays up to date on improvements and changes to IT systems that can benefit operations by maximizing efficiency and streamlining the electronic infrastructure.
- **Organizational Development - **Demonstrates an understanding of their part in the execution of the organization’s mission and vision. Operationalizes objectives in line with the goals of the organization.
