**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Establish and maintain procedures to monitor production processes and product quality.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards, establish preventative controls, and develop and implement corrective actions.
- Stay current on industry laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Manage quality assurance team members through annual performance evaluations. Assist staff in developing and meeting performance goals.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on food safety and quality assurance best practices, develop and implement disciplinary procedures for noncompliance with established protocols.
- Provide ongoing review and monitoring of employee safety training, including onboarding training. Provide input to line supervisors regarding quality and safety portion on annual performance reviews.
- Perform and document HACCP checks for production and document validations of equipment.
- Maintain required documentation surrounding equipment maintenance and assist maintenance in monitoring compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Perform internal food safety and quality assurance audits and provide feedback to management for improvements.
- Ensure sanitation procedures are completed and documented in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Respond and investigate customer complaints, prepare and execute corrective action, and provide summary reports and trend analysis to senior management.
- Review and maintain required documentation for the approved supplier program.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure the reliability and consistency of products.
- Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data.
- Assist in internal and external audits, including but not limited to SQF audits and Child Nutrition Program Audits.
- Assist in the onboarding process for new customers and coordinate initial and ongoing customer audits and plant tours.
- Manage product export paperwork for necessary shipments.
- Assist in developing, monitoring, and updating necessary safety programs, including allergen, Blood Borne Pathogens, emergency evacuation procedures, first aid administration.
- Assist procurement division in identifying appropriate sanitation, janitorial and first aid supplies.
- Maintain listing of all required Safey Data Sheets related to production and sanitation needs.
- Other duties as assigned and deemed necessary.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Bachelor’s degree in science or business-based program or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in food production or manufacturing.
- HACCP, PCQI, and SQF Practitioner Certified or ability to obtain certifications.
- Experience with Child Nutrition Program preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written skills with strong observational and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and team building skills.
