**Main Purpose of Job**:
The Assistant Project Manager will support the Commission on Juvenile Justice Reform and Emerging Practices by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to various aspects of juvenile services programs in the state of Maryland. Additionally, this role will support the Prison Education Delivery Reform Commission by coordinating activities related to the development of education-focused policies to reduce recidivism and increase public safety among adult offenders. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to using data to drive decision-making and improve outcomes for youth involved in the justice system.

**POSITION DUTIES**:
Plan and conduct studies and analyses of programs, organizations, procedures, or systems related to juvenile services and education for justice-impacted people.

Formulate final reports and effective recommendations based on analyses conducted, providing insights to enhance program effectiveness.

Prepare management tools such as procedural manuals, statistical reports, and organization charts.

Participate in formulating, establishing, or modifying program goals and objectives by analyzing alternatives, trends, available resources, and projected program needs.

Participate in the program planning process by developing forecasts, proposals, or procedures for growth and expansion.

Confer with other administrative officials, program heads, and staff specialists to exchange information, interpret policies, or offer recommendations.

Advise departmental officials regarding administrative practices, procedures, or policies related to juvenile services and education for justice-impacted people.

Coordinate inter-agency transactions and provide liaison with officials in other agencies in the State legislature, the federal government, private industry, or local government.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

**Experience**: Three years of administrative staff or professional work.

One year experience working in a criminal justice or public safety field.

Experience in gathering, writing and presenting data to a wide audience.

Experience performing communications and public relations duties, with the ability to navigate social media.

**LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS**:
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

Paid leave will accrue at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked.
