**Overview**:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated driver to join our team at DDD (Developmental Disability Services). As a driver, you will play a vital role in transporting individuals with developmental disabilities to various destinations, including medical appointments, social outings, and day programs. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the safety, comfort, and dignity of our passengers while providing reliable transportation services.

**Duties**:

- Safely operate designated vehicles, accommodating the unique needs of individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Provide compassionate and respectful assistance to passengers with boarding, seating, and securing mobility aids as needed.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment during transportation, engaging with passengers in a positive and encouraging manner.
- Collaborate with caregivers, case managers, and other staff members to coordinate transportation schedules and ensure the smooth execution of planned activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and accessibility of the vehicle, including regular sanitization and upkeep of specialized equipment.
- Monitor passenger behavior and address any concerns or challenges with patience and empathy, employing de-escalation techniques when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with passengers and their support networks, providing clear instructions and updates regarding transportation arrangements.
- Adhere to all relevant regulations and protocols governing the transportation of individuals with disabilities, including securing necessary permits and certifications.

**Requirements**:

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check.
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred but not required.
- Empathetic and patient demeanor, with a genuine commitment to serving others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Basic knowledge of developmental disabilities and an understanding of the challenges faced by individuals in this population.
- Flexibility to work variable hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the scheduling needs of passengers.
- Willingness to undergo training in first aid, CPR, and crisis intervention techniques as required by the position.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
