Supervisory IT Specialist

**Duties**:
As an Supervisory IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:
- Develop and lead project management activities used for implementing and monitoring the Department's cybersecurity and Communications Security (COMSEC) program.
- Serve as a technical expert with regard to Information Security work involving the planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked systems.
- Conduct risk assessment programs to identify areas of potential vulnerability in operating systems used throughout the Communications Security (COMSEC) organization.
- Represent the organization with Departmental and multi-agency work groups focused on issues of Communications Security (COMSEC) support.
- Be responsible for COMSEC incident reporting and Emergency Action Plans, equipment testing, trouble shooting, repair and maintenance.

- A one-year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required.

**Qualifications**:
- You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
- **Specialized experience for the GS-14: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service, public or other private sectors.**

**Specialized experience is defined as Information Technology experience in IT Cybersecurity estimating security resource and reliability requirements, reporting and defining deliverables.**

**Examples of this experience may include experience**:
- Analyzing IT security investments or portfolio; OR
- Managing organizations IT budget; OR
- Managing IT acquisitions, which can include working with IT professionals.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resumé.
