**Job Summary**:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the direction of the maintenance department activities, problem solving and maintaining standards of safety, quality of work, and department performance.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Performs job duties in plant environment at various locations throughout the plant.
- Supervise and directs work of maintenance employees involved in the maintenance of plant, injection molding equipment and auxiliary equipment.
- Monitors maintenance activities and resolves equipment problems.
- Promotes open communication between employees and management.
- Directs workers to follow safety procedures and maintain a neat work area.
- Develops schedule of maintaining injection molding equipment and auxiliary equipment at a high level of operation.
- Confer with other departments to identify equipment repairs that may be needed.
- Enforces rules, recommends pay adjustments, performance ratings, discipline or dismissal.
- Maintain equipment PM records, PM schedule, revise schedule based on equipment performance and requirements.
- Train maintenance employees as required.
- Participates in continuous improvement plans.
- Must be able to work with suppliers to achieve a continuous source of replacement parts at the best price and delivery in a timely fashion.
- As a senior manager, designate must set a superior example of personal conduct for the maintenance department.
- Educate Train and Promote (EMS) Environmental Management System.
- Minimize damage and spillage of waste and responsibly clean up and dispose of all waste that may affect the environment.

**Skills and/or Competencies**:

- Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams and mechanical prints
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

**Education/Experience**:

- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 4+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
