**As a Student Life Coordinator at The Knox School**, you will be an integral part of the residential life team, dedicated to creating a vibrant and supportive community for our International and Domestic boarding students, and bridging the gap between boarding and day students. In this role, you will work closely with the Head of School, dorm parents and other staff members to develop and implement programs and initiatives that enhance student engagement, well-being, and personal growth outside the classroom. We are seeking an energetic, dynamic, and passionate individual who enjoys being with young people and who has a vision for what a vibrant and successful student life program should be.

This is a **full-time, 12 month live-in residential position** that includes a mix of daytime, evening, and weekend responsibilities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Program Development and Implementation:

- Collaborate with the Head of School and residential life team to develop and implement a wide range of student-life programs and activities, including social events, recreational outings, community service projects, and cultural celebrations.
- Design and facilitate student-leadership development programs and training sessions to empower students to take an active role in shaping their residential community.
- Coordinate with student organizations, clubs, and committees to support their initiatives and promote student engagement.
- Student Support and Advocacy:

- Serve as a mentor, advisor, and advocate for boarding students, providing guidance, support, and referrals to resources as needed.
- Build positive relationships with students, actively listening to their concerns, ideas, and feedback, and advocating for their needs within the school community.
- Assist students in navigating academic, social, and personal challenges, offering mentorship and coaching to help them thrive.
- Residential Community Building:

- Organize and facilitate community-building activities, discussions, and programs to foster a sense of belonging and inclusion among boarding students.
- Work collaboratively with dorm parents and other staff members to create a welcoming and supportive living environment that promotes positive relationships and mutual respect.
- Plan and execute orientation programs and transition support services to help dorm parents and new students acclimate to boarding life and integrate into the residential community.

**Administrative Duties**:

- Maintain accurate records of student participation in programs and activities, as well as incidents and concerns related to student well-being and safety.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines related to student life and residential living.
- Collaborate with other school departments and external partners to coordinate logistics, resources, and support for student life programs and events.
- Communicate activities and events via the Weekly (sent Thursday for the following week) and Weekend (sent Wednesday for the upcoming weekend) Bulletins

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in any related field.
- Previous experience working in an independent boarding school setting, overnight camp, college RA, etc
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students in group settings.
- Empathy, compassion, and a commitment to supporting the holistic development and well-being of students.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Flexibility, creativity, and a positive attitude towards challenges and opportunities in student life.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
